Big Field Traditions Inc. was formed in early 2016 by eight Chaisson cousins, nephews of the original founders of the Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival. The Rollo Bay Fiddle started with one concert on a Sunday afternoon in July 1976 through the combined efforts of Bishop Faber MacDonald, Joe Pete Chaisson and the Eastern Kings Fiddlers Association. The group’s quest to promote traditional Island music continues to this day under the tutelage of the next generations of the Chaisson family.
